Begitu pun ganda campuran utama Tantowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir.

KUALA LUMPUR (10 March 2011) – Malaysia and Thailand eased into the second round of the 2012 Olympic Games qualifiers while ASEAN neighbours Indonesia and Myanmar fell after the second leg of the first round matches.
The Malaysians had their 2-0 win in the first leg in Kuala Lumpur to thank in their win over Pakistan – following the second leg scoreless draw in Lahore last night.
The Thais in the meantime, can consider themselves lucky for making into the next round where they had to fight tooth and nail before being able to win the tie against Palestine 6-5 on penalties.
The score after the first leg in Bangkok was 1-0 to the advantage of the Thais but Palestine's first international qualification match on home soil saw them fighting back to draw level 1-1 at the end of regulation when midfielder Abdulhamid Abuhabib slammed home on 45 minutes.
Thailand were down to ten men when in the 68th minute, Theerathon Bunmathan was sent off.
But with neither side able to change the score line even after the additional half hour, Seeket Madputeh emerged the hero for Thailand by scoring the decisive spot-kick.
Indonesia's aspiration for a place in the next round of the 2012 Olympic Games qualifiers were denied by Turkmenistan following their 4-1 aggregate loss.
Ruslan Mingazov struck the only goal of the second leg in the 25th minute at the Ashgabat's Olympic Stadium – to add further luster to Turkmenistan's impressive 3-1 first-leg triumph in Indonesia.
It was not only Indonesia who had a bad night where Myanmar were also shown the exit when they allowed India to score a last minute winner.
Having a 2-1 advantage going into the game at the Youth Training Centre in Yangon, the homesters found the equaliser on 64th minute from Kyaw Ko Ko, which should have given Myanmar the advantage on the away goals rule.
But Sathyan Sabeeth had the last say in the game when he scored in the 90th minute of play to guarantee India's progression into the second round.
The second round will see the ten Round 1 winners joining the 13 highest ranked teams (based on the qualifiers and tournament proper at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing) in the Olympic Football Tournament London 2012 Asian Qualifiers Round 2 draw, which takes place at AFC House on 30 March 30.
On the other hand, the postponed match between Singapore and Yemen will now be played at the neutral venue of the Khalifa Stadium in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates.
The first round game will be played on 19 March with the return tie three days later.
FIFA and the AFC decided to postpone the tie initially planned for 19 February due to the political situation in Yemen.

KUALA LUMPUR, March 4 (Bernama) -- Although the SEA Games Federation (SGF) at its Bali meeting last week decided to offer 42 sports and 545 events for the 26th SEA Games in November, host Indonesia might reduce the number due to technical reasons.
Indonesian SEA Games Organising Committee (Inasoc) secretary Abdul Rauf was quoted by the Jakarta Post today that the 545 events were not final and would be reduced automatically because of the four-country quota.
"An event with less than four participants will be dropped," he said, adding that the final number of events would be determined during the proper Games.
"If four athletes are listed in an event and one of them fails to come during the competition, the organiser cannot continue the match," he said.
Meanwhile, despite facing complaints, co-host Palembang is determined to complete the games infrastructure including the athlete's village before the July deadline.
The organising committee in Jakarta, on the other hand, will place the athletes competing in venues at the Indonesian capital city, in a hotel.
Abdul Rauf also pledged to provide athletes with a decent place to live during the Games.
"Maybe it won't be something fancy, like a five-star hotel room, but it will be suitable," he said.
Representatives of the 11 participating countries are scheduled to visit Palembang in July to inspect progress on the venues there.

PETALING JAYA: Olympic sports cycling, shooting and gymnastics had a significant number of events dropped from the Indonesia SEA Games at the end of the year but it was the reverse for aquatics.
For the first time, the butterfly, breaststroke and backstroke races over the 50m distance for men and women will be contested in the biennial Games.
The six events have been included in the swimming programme for competitions that will be held in Palembang from Nov 11-25 and it will be a boost to the Malaysian aquatics team’s bid to contribute the most number of gold medals for the contingent.
Aquatics will offer the most number of gold medals in the Games, which feature 44 sports. There will be 38 gold medals at stake in swimming and another eight will be up for grabs in diving.
The Amateur Swimming Union of Malaysia (Asum) secretary, Edwin Chong, said that the SEA Games swimming programme would follow the world championships for the first time.
“Only the 50m freestyle was contested previously but Indonesia have added the breaststroke, butterfly and backstroke races this time,” he said.
“Indonesia definitely are expecting their swimmers to challenge strongly for medals in the new events. They have good swimmers for the men’s competitions but we can expect our women to deliver too.”
Indonesia will be counting on Glenn Victor Sutanto and Indra Gunawan to come out on tops in the men’s backstroke and breaststroke short races respectively. At the last Games in Laos, Glenn won the 100m backstroke gold medal while Indra took silver in the 100m breaststroke.
For Malaysia, Chui Lai Kwan is a good prospect for gold in the women’s backstroke and freestyle short races while Christina Loh is expected to join forces with the United States-based Siow Yi Ying for the breaststroke disciplines.
“We can still count on Khoo Cai Lin for the women’s middle and long distance races. Daniel Bego will also face stronger challenges but is still a good bet to win in the men’s races,” said Edwin.
At the 2009 Games in Vientiane, the Malaysian aquatics team won 15 gold medals and nine of them came from the swimmers.
Daniel made the biggest splash for the Malaysian contingent with a five-gold haul with four of the races won in record times.

The 26th Southeast Asian Games will be held in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia from November 11 to 25. Indonesia is going to host the Southeast Asian Games for the fourth time in history. Eleven countries (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Vietnam) and over 6,000 athletes will be competing. 44 sports are going to be on the program, including Baseball.
The Baseball tournament will be held at the Jakabaring Sport Complex in Palembang. Baseball is part of the Southeast Asian Games since the 2005 event. In the inaugural edition host Philippines shut out Thailand 11-0 in the finals to win the title. Indonesia won the bronze medal. Two years later Thailand got some payback, as they defeated the Philippines 5-4 in the gold medal game with Indonesia again finishing in third place. There was not a Baseball tourney at the 2009 Southeast Asian Games, as host Laos didn’t had a team.
